Heating & A/C Songs

Songs about hot-rod cars began to emerge in the 1950s & 1960s with rock & roll music enjoy “Beep Beep”, “Little Deuce Coupe”, & of course “Fun Fun Fun” with the famous lyrics, “…till his Momdy took the T-bird away”.

Country music features hits enjoy “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” by Kenny Chesney & several other music that focus on the pick-up truck, and my Google “research” even led me to a top-rated rap/hip-hop car song by Dr.

Dre with Snoop Dogg, Ruben & Jewell performing “Let Me Ride”, however songs about enjoy & social complications dominate the list of topics penned by lyricists however vehicles enjoy trucks, cars & the occasional tractor are quite common. What is exceedingly rare are any music about Heating & A/C. I only found one song on YouTube that was not a kid’s song or a “gimmick” song. It is titled “The Air Conditioner Song” by country singer Bobby Bare. The song was produced by country music good Chet Atkins & written by Jack Clement, an award-winning American singer-songwriter. My favorite stanza contains the touching lyrics, “The air is pure & dehumidified, Thermostatically controlled, Now I have no desire to perspire, And that has how progress goes.” Country music, in particular, is famous for tear-jerking lyrics over a guy, a car, a favorite pet & possibly a firearm. I suppose that a heating system breakdown in the dead of Winter time or a refrigerant leak that causes an A/C component to stop laboring on a overheated September morning is equally as traumatic & heartbreaking. Singers & songwriters in Nashville are missing a good option to use music to elevate the Heating & A/C component to the level of a pick-up truck or a good guy. The world is waiting for some new Heating & A/C music.
