He has been a schoolteacher for the past 10 years.
I have worked in a number of different schools and districts.
I have taught second grade, fourth grade, and 9th and 10th grade math. Last year, my boyfriend and I moved to a new town and I had to find a job working for a different school. I ended up finding a job as a full-time math teacher for 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students. I love the kids a lot and I am really enjoying the new friendships I have made with the faculty members. The school is older and run down and the building is seriously in need of remodeling. My classroom is by the football field and there are no trees to block the wind. It is always extremely cold during the winter season. Last winter, I came to work one morning and there was no heat in the classroom. I checked the temperature on the thermostat in the room and it was 57°. I searched for the janitor and he came to the classroom to check on the heater. He couldn’t fix the problem. He had to call another person from the elementary school to fix the heating problem. We spent all day in a frigid and ice cold classroom. The kids couldn’t concentrate on learning math and I sure didn’t feel like teaching. I decided to play a movie on the DVD player and I let the kids draw or talk quietly. Thankfully the problem was resolved when I returned to work the next morning.
