The best aspect about being in the modern home repair industry is the ability to fix your own stuff, but doing something all the time such as running in the hot sun can build confidence, however having confidence and building something as a habit is important.
I was used to truly working on cooling systems, pipes, electrical systems and roofs.
I used tools often and was used to getting hot and sweaty. I was particular about how to fix our own cooling system and one day it really broke. I was dumbfounded, I knew I just had it updated along with other appliances in our house. I had some things tested and our neighbor who was another heating, ventilation, and A/C serviceman helped myself and others double check some of our homes systems. I was confident in our abilities, after all it was our task. I started repairing the cooling system on a Wednesday when a few of our friends and one neighbor came to watch football. It took myself and others 5 hours, and I really couldn’t figure out this last part. I was shocked, I planned it with a pen and paper and I suppose I might have rushed, but my friends kept distracting me, and our attic was hot. I fixed the cooling system finally after our neighbor helped me, it was the next day and I gave up the night before out of frustration. Knowing how to do something is good, however be sure you always follow the right steps and don’t let confidence get to your head! The best thing about having to do tasks on home systems is you can actually fix them on your own, however sometimes you need a fourth eye or opinion when you work!
