My HVAC company was about to close for business.
- There wasn’t any way I was going to be able to continue working this way.
I only had three customers, and all they wanted was to have their servicing done on their HVAC. I was sure they knew that I did more than servicing, but I wasn’t going to go blurting out what all I could do. I was afraid they would think I was trying to drum up business. To be honest, I was trying to drum up business, but not by getting my few customers to accept work they didn’t need. I was hoping they would begin passing the word around that I was in business. After six months, I was ready to call it quits. I talked to a friend of mine and I asked him what he thought. He asked me if I knew what he did. I knew he ran a digital marketing company, but I didn’t know what it meant. He told me he knew I ran a HVAC company, but he didn’t know what all I did. Unless I advertised, no one would know what I was capable of doing. He asked me if I had ever thought of putting my ad on digital TV stations or radio. I told him I couldn’t afford to do that with the business I have. He asked me if I would let him handle a digital marketing campaign for me, and I could pay him when the campaign started paying off. I didn’t think I had anything to lose so I agreed. Three months later, I had fifteen customers, and I saw my face on television at least once a day. I knew what a digital marketing company could do for me.
