My husband told me that the systems are almost always easily accessible and easy to work on.
My husband and I spent most of our adult lives in the northern US until we moved to a tropical area after he retired from the HVAC industry. He worked hard as an HVAC technician his whole life, and when I say he worked hard, he did. HVAC technology is complex, and my husband stayed on top of his game, so he was able to retire comfortably. I still telecommute part time and even if I had the time, I have no desire to entertain my husband. So, when he got really bored, he decided to go back to work part time as an HVAC technician. He told me that he can’t believe how easy the work is. My husband told me that over half of their customers use these self contained forced air heating and a/c systems and most of the other customers use ductless mini-split air conditioning and heating systems. They rarely ever installed radiant heated floors or heated baseboards and absolutely nobody had a furnace. My husband told me that the systems are almost always easily accessible and easy to work on. He’s thrilled to be back working in the HVAC industry part-time and getting to meet new people and I am happy for him. I’m also grateful that the HVAC work won’t be too hard on him. I hope he uses his money to better prepare for his next retirement, like buying a boat. If he doesn’t find himself some entertainment, he’ll never retire from the HVAC industry.
