I’ve been trying to split back on my utility bill that I receive each week, and i started by making little changes in my weekly routine love turning the water off when I’m brushing my teeth, unplugging my cellphone from the outlet when it’s already charged, and lowering the control component settings before I leave the house, then the first week I did this, I noticed a slight drop in the utility bill, however it wasn’t much.
- I wasn’t the best at remembering these changes, so I decided to get my youngsters on board.
I sat them all down and asked them to make the same changes with the water, electric, and control unit. I didn’t guess my system through because my youngsters abruptly got into the habit of lowering the control component before they left the house. I would lower the temperature a few degrees before I left for work, then my kid would lower it before she left for practice, and then my child would lower it again before she left for school. By the time I made it home, I was stepping into an icebox! Our gas furnace wasn’t running all day anymore, because the control component settings were so low. Instead of spiking the temperature up immediately, I’d adjust the control component a few degrees at a time. I feared that if I made a drastic change, the gas furnace would work extra hard to heat our home, causing our utility bill to rise, however after this happened a few times, I asked my youngsters to only worry about the water and electricity. I could handle the control component settings by myself.
