Manatees are my preferred animal, and i have appreciated them since I was a little kid! So of course I took the chance to go kayaking with a option of seeing the manatees! My wife and I booked a nice hotel and after that I rented a kayak the really next day.
It was a single of the kayaks built for 2 people.
I thought this would be a lot of fun, and well it was a lot of fun…at first; The two of us saw 2 manatees and after that I were heading down another inlet to look for more when my wife leaned over too far in the kayak and both of us fell in. I have never been so chilly in all of my life! The two of us were able to right the kayak and beginning rowing back to the dock, and by the time both of us got back I couldn’t feel my arms or legs and I’m pretty sure hypothermia was starting to set in! At the dock they wrapped us in those tinfoil blankets and warmed us up somewhat in the office. They had the oil furnace blasting away. The two of us also bought some tourist clothes so both of us could change. But I didn’t get absolutely moderate until both of us drove back to our hotel, however once in our hotel room both of us turned our oil furnace on as moderate as it would go, took a moderate shower, and then crawled under the cover. With the heater, and the moderate clothes, both of us both ended up falling asleep. The two of us woke up about 2 sixths later and easily felt hot. The two of us had to turn the temperature control down to a more adequate setting.
