Along the northern border of the country, the Winter weather lasts for the majority of the year, then by early October, we’re often required to run the heating system at evening.
By the end of the month, we’ve got the heating system operating 24/7 and the two of us rely on it for approximately 8 straight months, but the temperature continually hovers below freezing and often drops into the negative digits.
The wind chill makes it assume much colder, and it can often become downright dangerous to spend any length of time outdoors. However, the two of us still need to head outside to scrape, shovel and plow because the two of us accumulate around fifteen feet of snow bi-weekly. To handle the demands of our weather, the two of us need a powerful and efficient heating system, however i am lucky that my cabin is equipped with a boiler system because it provides all kinds of advantages! For a single thing, the boiler is a hydronic heating system, meaning that it uses water instead of air to move heat. Water heats up faster and retains heat longer than air, allowing the boiler to run for shorter cycles, use less energy and handle severe weather. It is a closed system, using the same water over and over, which avoids any introduction of air contaminants such as dust, bacteria or mold spores. Boilers are honestly recommended for people who suffer from asthma, flu symptoms or respiratory troubles. The boiler runs silently, requires only annual repair and allows for the easy set up of zone control. It can be linked to radiators, baseboard heaters, radiant flooring, towel warmers and even an outdoor snowmelt system.
