My wife and I have a full service tune up performed on our AC unit and furnace every single year.
Both of us know it is very important to have a service tune-up performed on the heating and cooling equipment.
It is the same as changing the oil on the car or buying a new air filter. My wife and I honestly believe that our monthly energy bills are less due to the service tune-ups. My wife scheduled a tune-up for the AC unit last week. I wasn’t home at the time of the appointment and my wife was very unhappy with the service technician. The guy was only in our home for 20 minutes and then he told my wife that he was finished with the service appointment. The other guys take almost an hour to complete the service and it seemed very unlikely that the new and unfamiliar face could perform the service much faster. My wife wanted a copy of the service checklist and the guy showed my wife a list with every single box checked okay. It seemed very clear to my wife that the guy did not perform a good evaluation on the AC unit. When I got home from work, I decided to call the HVAC company. I talked to the manager about the service appointment and I told the woman that we usually don’t have any complaints. She offered to send a different service technician to complete a new AC tune-up on our equipment. Since my wife and I felt that the first guy did not do a good job, we agreed to schedule a second appointment for free.
