My granddaughter came to visit Last month and asked if I would go with her. She remembered I had said I was wanting a haircut, and she was going to get her eyebrows waxed. I thought her eyebrows looked fine, however then again, maybe she had them waxed regularly to keep them nice. I went to the salon with her. I had never been in a nail salon this fancy. It was more of a high-end salon where they had proper uniforms. We were met at the door with a beverage and given robes to put on. My granddaughter sang out in a cheery voice, “Happy Birthday” and said all of us were getting massages and she was also getting a full body wax. I couldn’t know what she was saying. She had always been keen to try sugaring, however this salon only gave waxing and threading. I was scared of having all my hair ripped out by the roots, but she didn’t think anything of it. She told me she could tolerate pain well, and the ends justify the means as far as waxing or sugaring is concerned. She asked if I wanted to have my eyebrows waxed. If it hurt too much, I didn’t have to wax anything else. If it didn’t hurt too badly, she was going to tell them I desired to have my legs waxed. I wasn’t sure I wanted any waxing whatsoever, but she was so insistent. I had my eyebrows waxed and then gave a hesitant yes to waxing my calves. I didn’t hear her yell when they were waxing her calves. I was the adult and I should also be able to get through the wax, at least once, without being a baby about it.
