I held off on installing central a/c into my lake house for a long time, and because of the harshly long winters and rather short summers in my local area, I didn’t assume that whole-house cooling was necessary, my family seemed to manage just fantastic with window units in the family rooms and open windows everywhere else.
My wifey, but, was unhappy with how the air conditioners looked from the outside.
She worried about the open windows being a security risk, however her largest complaint was that at the end of the day, after supper, our kids would instantly retreat to their rooms, then they wanted to be cool and comfortable. This took away from family time. So I started looking into the cost of adding central a/c. Because both of us already had the HVAC duct and compressor for the sake of the forced air gas furnace, the project wasn’t as fancy as expected! Plus, I was able to take luck of a manufacturer’s rebate and a special through the Heating and A/C company I bought it from, but once the air conditioner was up and running, I was amazed by the improvement it has made to the home. Having the ability to adjust the control machine and love ideal temperature in every room is lovely. The plan also does a fantastic task with handling excess humidity and filtering out air contaminants. Just circulating the air keeps it feeling and odoring fresher. The condo is easily cleaner and more hygienic. Plus, by keeping the windows closed, both of us avoid the noise pollution of traffic, construction vehicles, barking cats and neighbors. My family now spends more time together in the evenings and both of us all sleep better at evening.
