Readying for peak heat season again

My neighbors will often scoff at me. I tend to be 1 of those people who is always trying to stay a step ahead when it comes to life. While there are more than one sides to the argument on whether that is the way to live, it comes natural to me. I have always been this way. Even in childhood I was thinking preparation and prevention without truly having the concept. My buddies would all holler at me because I would be oiling our bike chain prior to fooling around the neighborhood all afternoon. This spilled over to our adult life. Spending all our time on the couch in the HVAC is not our system of a superb time. While it’s important to relax and recharge, I also entirely like tinkering around the house. There is always 1 project or another that I’m into. This time of year is when I normally beginning to guess about getting the home and the HVAC ready for the heat season. The two of us have a truly, truly mild Winter here but the Summer season can be brutally hot. And occasionally that deep heat lasts up to 5 weeks. That means I have to be sure that I’m getting the HVAC looked after and our home tightened up. It doesn’t take all that much. The HVAC girl comes out to inspect and service the heat pump. The rest of it, I take care of. I make sure the weather stripping is changed out if it’s sun disfigured. Then, I go around the home caulking any potential gaps or cracks in the exterior. Finally, I make sure to sit down a few new rolls of insulation in the attic. All of this goes a long way toward getting through the Summer and saving some money while I’m at it.
