I can’t absolutely quite articulate just how hard it has been to deal with my first exposure to a real drastic winter. I grew up and lived in an part where Winter just was sort of an after thought when it came to Heating, Ventilation, and A/C. In fact, the Summer heat season is so intense that I always looked forward to the Winter months. Sure, the people I was with and I might have to flip the heat pump over to heat every now and again however that was about it. It was the best way to experience Winter as far as I’m worried. That all came to halt for myself and others as I have transitioned to dealing with Winter the way the other half of the country does. And it has not gone well. I tend to believe about little else than turning up the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C setting. However, the furnace heat is pumping night and day anyway. The only reason I haven’t turned around and gone back to where I came from is there is some enjoyable heat in this house. I moved up north for a task. My wife is absolutely from the north and absolutely cautioned myself and others about the winter. She told myself and others that the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C heating costs were high and the Winter lasted months and months. I listened but I also just assumed that I could abruptly adapt to the cold, the snow and the ice. My wife is even having a tough time getting accustomed to this sort of weather again. As for me, I’m just holding on in order to get through this first winter. Perhaps, with the help of my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C, I’ll be able to reset and next year will be better.
