My mother is a cool old lady.
It didn’t matter what she was doing, she always made it fun.
I remember when we were just kids, that whenever we started fighting, she would make us hug it out. We usually started out mad, but then we would begin laughing. We would then have a dance party with the entire family joining in. She said that dancing and hugging is more fun than fighting and hitting. I remember that even now when I have kids. The other day, my mom called me and told me she had a problem with her furnace. She asked if I could come over and help her find the phone number for her HVAC company. I knew mom was going blind, so I went over to her house. I liked that she lived only a block away; it made it easier to go help her out. When I got to the house, mom was dancing. I asked her if she was all right. She said that she was cold, and it was a way to exercise and warm up. She said if she had to move, then she may as well dance. She continued to dance as I called the HVAC company. When I got off the phone, I told her she would need to come home with me for a couple days. It was going to take two or three days until the HVAC company could show. She grabbed some clothes and headed out the door with me. She said she could go home and dance with my daughter and worry about the furnace later.
