I ended up telling them that I didn’t want their HVAC service plan anymore, but they were giving me a hard time because they said I signed a contract.
A little while ago, I had an HVAC technician who started telling me about an HVAC service plan. He made the HVAC service plan sound really good. Well, I ended up signing the contract and I thought that I wasn’t going to have to worry about a thing. I was told that I wouldn’t even have to call up the HVAC company as they would call me for my next service appointment. This just wasn’t true at all. I waited for a little while and I never even got my spring tune-up for my HVAC system. I ended up having to call the HVAC company in the summer to see if they were going to provide a tune-up for my cooling system. Even after I called them and they said they would send somebody over, nobody ever showed up! I actually waited a few days before calling them back. I ended up telling them that I didn’t want their HVAC service plan anymore, but they were giving me a hard time because they said I signed a contract. I decided to get a lawyer and the lawyer has told me that since they breached the terms of the contract and lied to me about the details without providing full disclosure, the contract would be considered null and void. I ended up taking this to court and I even sued them for not providing me the services they agreed to. It was a small victory and at least I was able to get out of the contract and go with a better HVAC company. I won’t be getting into any new contracts anytime soon, that’s for certain.
